Ever heard of the Champagne region of France? If you’re drinking champagne produced anywhere but that region, it’s technically not champagne, but simply sparkling wine. The region of France was designed to protect the name and quality of product; Molson Coors and Miller High Life are now following suit. A request has been filed with the Milwaukee Common Council to designate the Milwaukee brewing campus as the “Champagne of Beers” region. Applications are now open to be the company ambassador – a title awarding $20,000 in cash, Miller High Life for a year, and an all expenses paid trip to the region.
