Kristen Distributing Company was founded
in 1930 by
Ambrose Kristen. Ambrose Kristen immigrated
to Texas in the late 1800’s from Germany
with his father who passed away on the
voyage. Left with a few tools and the
knowledge of wheelrighting, he set up a
livery stable at Industry on the German
Trace. In 1930, he purchased the Bellville
Bottling Works, manufacturing and
distributing soft drinks like Frosty,
Nesbitt, 7-Up, and Dr. Pepper. Ambrose’s son, “Boots” Kristen joined the
firm shortly after the repeal and added
wholesale beer distribution with brands like
Texas’ #1 beer – Grand Prize of Galveston
(Owned by Howard Hughes). Distribution was
limited to Austin and Waller counties. The
bottling division was sold in the early
60’s. Today, the company is located in Bryan with
distribution of Miller, Coors, Heineken,
Corona, Shiner, Guinness, Pabst, Labatt,
Seagrams, Smirnoff Ice, Red Bull, and many
imported beers in the following Texas
counties: Austin, Waller, Brazos,
Washington, Burleson, Grimes, Leon,
Robertson, Walker, Colorado, Madison, Lee,
Houston, Hamilton, Mills, San Saba,
Lampasas, Coryell, Bell, McLennan,
Milam, Falls, Limestone, and Freestone. Kristen Distributing is a growth oriented
company with plans to develop a regional
distribution center on the Texas World
Speedway. Kristen Distributing Company is
the winner of the 2002 Adolph Coors
Founder’s Award – One of the industry’s most
prestigious recognition.
It is the

Distributing strongly supports laws that are
aimed at curbing alcohol abuse and underage
drinking within our community. We have
consistently endorsed regulations and laws
that prohibit the sale of alcoholic
beverages to minors. Kristen Distributing
takes pride in working with our community
and law enforcement officials to see these
regulations are obeyed. The beer industry
actively promotes responsible consumption of
